we finished Battlestar Season Three the other day... yawn. worst. ending song thingy. ever.
the whole season was a MAJOR letdown. season two had me enamoured, and in love, with the series after a rocky start. the honeymoon is over. i guess i can start into season four now. OH! i need to add Razor to my netflix LIKE NOW...
***
we finished Oz Season Five tonight. man... the ending to that was sad, but kinda perfect. Augustus has a knock out final word and the closing shot is a stunner. cant wait to dig into season six... to finish out the series.
***
did i mention we watched 'Bull Durham' the other night. it was a bit of a letdown too... i think i was expecting Caddyshack, but with more heart. instead i got porkys for adults. it was ok.
***
cd updated
The Weepies - Hideaway
The Kooks - Konk
talk about your bad album titles.
and i got Dov's record... i forget the name or his last name... i'll write it down soon.
***
i'm in love. more later. much later.
***
my back is still dead.
***
i'm rambling because i'm trying to remember what i wanted to write about in the first place... wtf was it? justin reminded me of something... but now i'm at a loss... the new Interpol unofficial video is pretty neat... 'Rest My Chemistry' is probably my favorite song from LP3, so it has that going for it.

And you, and anyone else who doesn't like the boxing episode has no appreciation for the huge story-line and relationship payoffs that are finally brought to light in that episode. That episode was what I felt the entirety of season 3 was building too; what the hell happened during the year on New Caprica that made everyone so miserable?
Unfortunately, I feel like season 4 is already in its lull. Maybe Nana Visitor's guest spot this week will help, but I don't know.
and with the boxing episode... it just was, again, too much. they could have covered the relationships differently. the season just felt bloated. in individual episodes, and as a whole.
i would have liked to see more stuff on new caprica for sure. i expected most of this season to be on new caprica, when really it was only a couple shows, and then it was more space stuff.
starbuck was especially annoying this season as well. at first she was a hotshot pilot with a bratty side. shes still a hot shot pilot whos a dick to everyone... only its like 4 years later and everyone else has been through hell. even shes been through hell, and not changed... at all. its ok when its bart simpson and its been 20 years as an edgy ten year old, he hasnt been raped by a robot for years, had his junk chopped up by robots or had to risk his life daily fighting robots while losing loved ones to evil robots. heilo, apollo, adama, roslin, athena, chief, etc. all have had really 'realistic' character archs. its been great watching them change and grow. and even then... starbuck is like 28 or so, maybe 24 when the show started... dont you think you change A LOT in your 20's? i mean... 4 years ago, where were you?
i guess that just speaks to me what i love about shows like dexter... every show gives you a new angle. or the bbc office. six shows a season, two seasons total. they got in and got out before it got old. sopranos should have done the same, and bsg needs to wrap their shit up in a hurry.
