Burning with Optimism's Flames

i've been on a big 'music i love' kick. it would seem that most people probably listen to stuff they love most of the time.... but i usually listen to stuff i've never heard. i never really thought about it until now. i just consume too much music. and i find some gems and they eventually become music i love, but then i just move onto something else.

i keep forgetting to put any other CDs in my car, so for over a week now i've only listened to the new Local H record in my car. its good, not their best, but definitely good. and i love Local H, but i dont LOVE this record yet.

at home though, with a fairly empty itunes now, i've been jonesing for weezer, interpol, XTC, The Frogs, Hum, Metallica, etc. stuff i havent listened to in years, or just havent listened to enough lately. sometimes its fun to know the songs and sing along.

i'm kinda mad... i seem to have misplaced all of the japanese reissues of some XTC albums i have. i cant even remember which ones i had. the sleeves are a weird size, so i couldnt put them with the rest of my XTC cds... but where are they? i know i had 'Oranges and Lemons', and i had at least one more, but i think i also had 'Mummer' and 'English Settlement'... maybe 'Go2' as well. darn it.

cd update...

King's X - XV
The Myriad - With Arrows, With Poise

also... last night we watched 'National Treasure 2'. it was alright. as good as the first one i guess. i think i liked the first one more though, probably because i expected it to suck and i actually ended up liking it. its absurd, but fun. this second one had me wondering how much of the history was actually true or not.

why am i not trying the gotdamned Penny Arcade game yet???

"How much history is true?"

As far as I remember, only the bit about the resolute desks being twins is true. And there are 2 statues of liberty.

And there is a city of gold underneath George Washington's head.
