Poll #1125260
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All
Terminator TVs.
We watched the first episode of 'The Sarah Conner Chronicles' tonight. The story was fine, got me thinking about the Terminator universe again, but the acting/efect/camerawork/etc. were all typical serial sci-fi. I'd like to see more of the show.
So with the poll... normally, Headey appeals more to what i'm into with women, and glau is much less the type i'm into, but there is just something about headey that is a huge turn off. it could be that awful, brain scarring sex scene from '300', it could be the weirdass way she delivers all of her lines, it could be her unceasing overacting... i'm not sure. but i dont dig it.
summer glau is similar, but opposite. i'm not into her looks really at all, but something about her just makes it all click and shes pretty hot. i hated her in 'firefly', and then really dug her in 'serenity' (as did most everyone). shes all weird looking, but attractive, and she definitely gets my vote.

i've been on a big Black Crowes kick lately...
i remember always hating them. like ALWAYS. i remember when their box set came out, i was thinking 'who the HELL would ever want a Black Crowes box set?'. then i saw them in a haze on some late night tv show. i just kinda half woke up when they were on, and they did a great job, and so a few days later when i saw 'Amorica' on cassette in some clearance bin for $.50, i said 'why not?' and picked it up. it was when i was driving the '69 Bronco, and was into getting original cassette tapes for their superior sound in that vehicle.
next thing i knew, i was in love with 'Amorica'. the record kicked my ass. i immediately bought the Black Crowes box set... and have picked up all of their studio records since. in fact, they have a new album coming out in a couple months. their first in seven years... since the excellent 'Lions'.
music sure is an odd thing.
i'm not much into blues, southern rock, hard rock, filthy hippies, etc. but the Crowes DO IT man... i mean... you have to at least give them a shot. music is so damn disposable nowadays, that i dont think anyone gets a fair shake anymore, but just click play. it kinda sucks that so much is available so easily now. you can click play on a million websites, hear 5 seconds of a song and decide you hate it. its unfair.
many many many many of my favorite albums i HATED at first. i had to drill those damn things into my skull, through the tears and all, just to really hear them. and it worked... pinkerton, interpol, white stripes, etc... they all started as a foul fungus, and now i love them all.
anyway...

also... here's the most popular track from Coconut Records, Jason Schwartzman's solo project. the record came out a while back, but its getting some attention now. this song was featured for 2 seconds in the background of 'Cloverfield'. the album has a lot of great songs though.
