i havent touched Wolfmother or Tool yet, but DAC+CFH sounds EXACTLY like you'd think it would. heavy metal country music. i cant believe they pulled it off... fiddle and all...

Tool... we've all come to expect their album packaging to be a thing of marvel in its own right, and the new record is no slouch. its set up like one of those old school viewmaster things, where you look through a spectograph or spectolens of whatever and then the image becomes 3D. its beautiful and works wonderfully. its gimmicky, but doesnt feel cheesy. i still dig the AENIMA packaging the best, but this is pretty great.

Pearl Jam on the other hand. talk about the yin and yang... one of the worst looking covers is only topped by the pisspoor art theme contained in the liner notes. a stack of bloody human heads, a bunch of ripped up, slimy, poorly photographed faces and skulls, and three gotawful photos dissecting an avacado. i'm not going to pretend that i get it *cough*McCready*cough* because i dont get it. and you dont either. luckily the music is decent. i heard 80% of the album in background music mode though, so i cannot give a fair assessment at this time, BUT there was at least one track that sounded true to the grunge roots, another track that sounded wacky a la 'Bugs', and a couple Son of Neil Young rocker stompers. nothing outstanding, but again, i wasnt listening all that closely.

i'm STILL listening to the new Strokes album a lot. i listened to it all day today until i got Pearl Jam after work. and i'm still listening to Dresden Dolls quite a bit. i'm giving Sia the week off so i dont get burned out on her. i listened to that album TOO much for TWO weeks. i just really like it, but i know i'm going to burn myself on it and have to shelve it for a couple years... just like the first Metric album. it was a permanet fixture in my deck for six months, then i couldnt stand it really and its now warming up again.

Dogs Die In Hot Cars is the most blatant successor to XTC i've heard yet. and almost everything i listen to cops XTC. DDIHC could be the next XTC record. really. only not quite as good, but not bad either.

The National... i dont hate it, but i'm not falling for it yet. it keeps popping in and out of my player.

Animal Crossing though... so i set my DS time up two hours. this way i can see Nook in the morning, and wont have to play it at night if i dont want to. maybe this will give me another shot in the arm to keep playing.

I'm about this close " to completely not giving a damn about what happens in Animal Crossing anymore. I've almost hit the point of giving up.

- I'm never going to get the damned boxing wallpaper or floor.
- Nook is never going to give me a decent price on turnips.
- Wendell is never going to show up again.
- I could care less about KK's swoot songs.
- If Timmy and Tommy offer me a REGAL CARPET one more time i'm going to hit 'power off' and then i'll have to deal with Resetti.
- Is it possible for tommy to show me some product without having to wait for 10 minutes while he runs circles around the ugly ass couches in his ghetto monopoly woolworths trying to position himself to speak to me?
- Are the Able sisters ever going to carry some cool headware?
- I'm tired of 90% of my hybrids dying every other day.
- Alice moved out two days after Roald did. They were my last original villagers and i bent over and kissed their ass for four months. did either of those whiny bastards leave me a photo? oh hell NO. did they appreciate the awesome letters i wrote them or the awesome gifts i mailed to them. oh hell NO.
- is that fag-hag Queenie ever going to get off my jock?
- am i ever going to pay off my ridiculous mortgage? no. 750,000 bells for a one room add on? i keep waiting for the gestapo to kick down my door.
- what kind of swoot turnips rot after a week on the floor or in your pocket?
- i need only seven more fossils. am i ever going to find any of them? no.
- i never catch any decent fish.
- i never find any bugs.
- either my town just blows, or i just dont care enough to rimjob everyone into being my friend.

The Office US... i finally saw the first two episodes and it was soooooo bizarre! its like this weird spoof of the british version, only not funny in a spoof kind of way. the jokes are nearly identical, and the actors are doing the same actions and scenes... very very weird. They should have called it 'The Bizarro Office' because thats exactly what it feels like. its hard to explain. no its not. if you've never seen either version, then watch the original UK version and then watch the US version. the US version doesnt even TOUCH the UK version.

now thats not a complete knock. the new jokes they added in were funny, they were just too few and far between. i just sat there the whole time. i think i laughed once at the fat guy (who had the best zingers on the episodes i saw) i think his name is Kevin in the US version.

anyway... i'm torn because the jokes are still GREAT, its just that i've seen them before when they were fresh, and with better acting. Steve Carrell or whatever is too famous to play David Brent (or rather, Michael Scott). they needed a new face to be this idiot. whats great about Ricky Gervais is that after The Office, everything hes done has been as Ricky Gervais. its like he pulled off David Brent and The Office with such style that his next moves are something important and fascinating to watch. really, ending such a great show after 12 episodes because he didnt want it to fall apart was a bold move. i cant think of any way it wasnt. except for his own insecurities in its future fame.

in ACWW the other day ALICE HAD FLEAS! i caught one! David said one of his neighbors had fleas as well, so its not that uncommon i guess. i just cant wait to see someone wiping their ass on the carpet. maybe you can catch a tapeworm then!

also, Alice the Retarded Koala Bear told me this morning that she wanted to see my house. so i tried to get her to come within 10 minutes of her saying that. she wouldnt come. she said she needed more time, so i planned a meeting for her to come at 530pm. so i turn on my DS around 510pm and wait for her. i stiffed her last time we set up a meeting so i felt bad.

so she shows up, says two things to me, just like 'nice place' and 'you should clean up your clutter' or something and then says 'ok, well i have to get going'. that stupid jerk was there for less than 30 seconds!

and she didnt even give me her photo. what a biyotch.
