my streak of pisspoor luck continues. so i traded in BioShock for Metroid 3 last night. thats the good part. i get home and the gotdamned Wii cant read the disc! first it says the disc is effed, so i take it out, look at it (it looks perfect) and put it back in. the next 6 times it says 'an error has occurred' or something to that effect with the word 'error' involved. so i looks like i'll be swapping it out today and hoping for the best.

the game loaded the little channel preview... and then went to hell.

sometimes i just wish things i get excited about would just go smoothly. its a real buzzkill.

I saw this and then proceeded to beat my wang like I caught it breaking into my house.

EB said they would give me 30 bones for BioShock... works for me! Hello Metroid 3!

SO I played BioShock for nearly 5 hours today... it didnt feel that long AT ALL. Fotini just sat on the couch the whole time, in her pjs, watching. The story started out good and got GREAT by the end of the game.

maybe i'll post another very spoiler heavy post... so it can be avoided at all costs by those playing through it.

on another note. i think i'm going to sell it! sooooo... if anyone wants a copy, used, but in great condition (i am an anal adult afterall), let me know! i'll sell it cheap!

i might call eb tomorrow and see what they'll take to trade it for metroid 3...

we then watched 'Superman II - The Richard Donner Cut' on HD... it wasnt bad, but it was a pretty rough cut! not qualitywise or anything, just some... weird edits.

THEN... we watched the first episode of Heroes on HD. it was a free xbox download. it was nearly 3 gigs! sheeeeesh. so there. i saw it. it was ok. almost exactly what i expected, which is to say... something that i didnt really care if i watched or not. just like BSG! though i love BSG now.

No BioShock tonight... but we did finish 'Van Helsing'. It wasn't bad... a bit long, but a lot more fun than I expected. I would have liked to have seen more movie monsters, but it was still pretty good. Non-stop action...

Super Ten Times Bear is Driving Car Puzzle Fighter Championship Edition II HD is also really fun. So far, i'm undefeated!!! That's right 1-0 baby... too bad it was a player match.

I just played BioShock for about 2 hours... I don't feel like I'm very far... some crazy woman just made fun of me and some other guy named Peachy or something gave me a grenade launcher. It's the worst grenade launcher in the history of videogames. Basically, it lightly lobs the grenade, a la slowpitch softball. Couldn't my ARM do that? I've yet to find any arm thrown grenades yet.

Otherwise, so far so good! Fotini even stayed awake through the whole thing!

work choked a horse today. Julie... 2 more days... no wait...possibly ONE MORE DAY. No doubt, the longest day of my life. anyway... its almost over! and then its two people who are in the same boat she was, but its excusable because they've not been taught. that shall be rectified soon.

i think i'm going to start wearing tshirts to work though... on the real. no one seems to care when people do it and its too hot to wear an undershirt. also, demanding saturdays off is genius. i'm going to stop all this flexible schedule business! at least i still dont have to close... so thats a plus.

Kotaku is right. Even AFTER the demo, that teaser is white hot.

Which brings me to the demo... It's everything I'd hoped it would be. I haven't been this enamoured with an FPS since Half-Life 2. It's beautiful, moody, dark, deep and wonderful. I'm not going to bust a nut just yet, but I'm not disappointed.

If you own a 360 then you should be downloading the BioShock demo RIGHT NOW. If you do not own a 360, you should be buying/renting a 360 right now so you can play the BioShock demo.
