we finished Battlestar Season Three the other day... yawn. worst. ending song thingy. ever.
the whole season was a MAJOR letdown. season two had me enamoured, and in love, with the series after a rocky start. the honeymoon is over. i guess i can start into season four now. OH! i need to add Razor to my netflix LIKE NOW...
***
we finished Oz Season Five tonight. man... the ending to that was sad, but kinda perfect. Augustus has a knock out final word and the closing shot is a stunner. cant wait to dig into season six... to finish out the series.
***
did i mention we watched 'Bull Durham' the other night. it was a bit of a letdown too... i think i was expecting Caddyshack, but with more heart. instead i got porkys for adults. it was ok.
***
cd updated
The Weepies - Hideaway
The Kooks - Konk
talk about your bad album titles.
and i got Dov's record... i forget the name or his last name... i'll write it down soon.
***
i'm in love. more later. much later.
***
my back is still dead.
***
i'm rambling because i'm trying to remember what i wanted to write about in the first place... wtf was it? justin reminded me of something... but now i'm at a loss... the new Interpol unofficial video is pretty neat... 'Rest My Chemistry' is probably my favorite song from LP3, so it has that going for it.

Did I ever talk more about the new Interpol record? I'm still listening to it constantly... 'All Fired Up', 'Who Do You Think?' and 'Rest My Chemistry' are the big standouts for me personally, with 'Wrecking Ball' a close follow up. I'll flesh it out more later.

I can't believe how good 'New York Times Crosswords' for the DS is. It's incredibly polished, fun, really challenging, and it just feels really complete. They didn't just throw something together to cash in on the DS craze, they really put together a great package. I did a (crappy) mini-review on <lj user="gamealls"> if you're interested. Great game.
The only bad thing is... I'm on the last boss of Puzzle Quest! I haven't talked about it in a while, but I've still been playing it every day. I'm a level... 43? Anyway, the last boss has more than twice my health and some insane spells. So I'm still working on leveling up so I can take him out, but now I have NYT Crosswords as a distraction... AND!!! PICROSS DS COMES OUT TODAY!!! I'm a massive fan of Mario's Picross (and still play it every other week or so) and I've been dying to play this one for a while now. SO that's another game on the pile.
Plus, today at this time, exactly two years ago, I was playing Doom 3 and trying not to freak out on my wedding day. Happy Anniversary Fo! What a wonderful life you've given me.
She's going out of town this weekend... grumble grumble... I'll not go further right now...
Needless to say, it's freaking hectic.

So... I've had 'Rest My Chemistry' stuck in my head for a solid three days now.
I'm not ready to 'talk' about 'Our Love to Admire' just yet... but I will say that 'Who Do You Think?' is my favorite track so far. I've probably listened to the album intently 5 times and in the background another 5 times.
***
yesterday i felt soooooo sick. when vacuuming, i nearly laid down on the floor just because i thought i was going to fall. i was trying so hard not to throw up all morning. i dont know what was going on. my skin was really sensitive. i would have gone home, but i left early on tuesday and felt bad. i get crap for leaving early all the time... but its slow and they need to cut hours and usually i'm the only one who can leave and i dont mind not being at work. ugh... i had a fever all day too... up and down... it was miserable. then i just snapped at 530 or so and felt better. i still had this dizziness in the back of my head. very weird. i couldnt think or concentrate. i wont be surprised if the register was off.
i cant figure out whats been making me so sick the past few weeks. my stomach has been sooooo jacked for like a month. i mean, its been jacked for about 15 years, but really bad lately. i stopped taking my medication 2 days ago and its a little better, but not much different. i've been so feverish though, and sore and floaty and just weird.
i dont know! and thats the worst part. i started taking vitamins, so i thought that was it... but it seems to be hit or miss, so i'm counting them out. my chest has been weird and i've been able to feel/HEAR my blood swishing around in my heart. thats odd... maybe i'm having blood or heart problems. i'll get to the point where i check it out.
i'm turning into a crazy hypo!

i just made my first Wiki entry... i expanded the 'Touchmaster DS' page... slightly. it works a lot differently than I thought it would... i guess i'm spoiled by flickr and the like.

slight update...
INTERPOL! - Our Love to Admire!
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell
So... Interpol and then a couple others that'll probably stay shelved for a bit.

The first minute of "Rest My Chemistry" by Interpol. Bad quality, but you can still make out the song pretty well... I'm getting more excited every day!
They also updated their site yesterday.
They also updated their site yesterday.
WILCO! YOU SUCK! Ok, not really... but wtf! Here's the issue. I preordered Sky Blue Sky with the Vinyl and CD thingy the day they posted it. A couple weeks later they posted a different deal for the Special Edition, a better deal. I wrote them and asked if they could include the DVD in the 'early adopters' orders and they never wrote back (but didn't change anything on their site to indicate that they were doing so). Ok, it's alright, I'll go ahead and get the special edition when it comes out and I'll give it to Fotini and I can still watch the DVD... Well it's freaking $24.99 for the special edition! I guess I should be cursing Nonsuch... That's insane!!!! I was thinking $18.99 or so, and I'd go as high as $20. Well, amazon has it posted at $19.99... but that doesn't put it in my ears any sooner! The preorder shipped on Friday, so who knows when it'll get here.
Normally, I wouldn't really care, but there are maybe 2-3 bands that I would buy a double dip from right outta the gate like this... Wilco! Oh well... I'm not going to spring for the limited edition. No way, not at that price. If someone wants to bootleg it for me, I wouldn't turn it down, as I'm already going to buy the darn thing twice (three times? Does the vinyl count as a third purchase?) anyway.
INTERPOL... I'm watching you... I don't know who to trust now... I bought 'Antics' twice (it was double dipped).. no, actually, three times. I picked up that on vinyl too. I ended up buying TOTBL twice because my first disc got worn out. I've only done that four times... bought an album again after losing it or having it become damaged. It's not often that I damage a disc, or lose one... but these four I couldn't live without:
The Negro Problem - Post Minstrel Problems
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Let it Happen
WILCO - A.M.
Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights
On the other hand... How many times will I watch that bonus DVD? Probably 2-3 times? It's not worth 20 bucks just for that... I'll just wait it out for my real copy. I've been so good about not streaming it or anything... really waiting for the whole album to hit me at once. I do have a live version of 'Impossible Germany' from last November, but it was before I knew it was going to be included on the LP.
I'm doing better about not collecting JUNK and possessions lately... Been renting more and just holding back on a lot of stuff. Trying to break that consumer cycle I always give into... I still have my indulgences though, and Wilco is definitely one of them.

Kings of Leon's "Because of the Times" is acting really weird with me lately. It's like I'm digesting it in small chunks. For the past three weeks I've pretty much just listened to 'Charmer' and 'On Call' over and over and over and over. As soon as they're over, I rewind to track 2 and start again. But I've listened to them each dozens of times... I just couldn't get further than that without wanting to hear 'Charmer' again, and after that was done I just needed to hear 'On Call', repeat ad infinum, etc.
Yesterday I started really digging 'McFearless' after it popped into my head (after weeks of not hearing it). So now I'm four tracks into the album... maybe it'll keep going and going in that fashion. I love those types of albums. Both Interpol records were like that with me. At first it was PDA and Stella Was a Diver and She was Always Down, then Say Hello to Angels, over and over and over. With 'Antics' it was NARC and Evil, then Take You On a Cruise and Not Even Jail.
I love it.

so we went to Hebrew class and it was fun.
THEN! we came home and turned on the Wii! downloaded Punch Out!! and played it for a while, then we watched interpol, cheapy d, butters, little superstar, the new fantastic four trailer and a video about potty training on youtube. fotini is uninitiated with the yon wild youtube, so now shes clued in. it was a stream of consciousness dealy.
And then this, cut for your blackberry viewing pleasure:

Let the backlash begin. I dig the first track, and halfway through the second it picks up.
I think it's supposed to be called 'Heinrich Maneuver'.
and then here's 'Pioneer'. Too long for a YouTube intro... Sounds like 'A Time to be Small 2'.

I'm getting Wii-elbow. I figure I'm 2/3 through 'Indigo Prophecy' now, so I thought I'd give 'Elebits' a try for a while. Now my left forearm is all tight... weird.

The oft-loathed 'Evil' video from which my icon comes from. People were asking in communities, and I love the video and don't mind pimping it. I want to try to embed as well:
Interpol posted a new background on their homepage... I hope they drop album 3 this year... and it doesn't end up like Bloc Party #2.

Wii mania is reaching a fever-effing-pitch in my pants right about now. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope to read some reviews well in advance of the system launch! Zelda and Tony Hawk are for sures, but what about all the great maybes? Red Steel, Elebits, Metal Slug, etc???

I have a confession to make. I've been listening to "Sam's Town" almost non-stop for two weeks now. Apparently, I'm the only person alive who has been, and it's seriously a love/hate relationship. it has such a cornball side to it, but those melodies are just kicking my asssssssssss....
Either way, who knew? I wasn't that big on 'Hot Fuss'. I mean, I liked it fine, but I was never obsessive about it. the first time i listened to it was the day it came out, and i ripped the best songs to my iTunes. i ripped two songs (because i had not had my PC very long, and somehow thought that MP3's took up a ton of space)... those songs?:
'On Top'
'Believe Me Natalie'
At the time, none of the singles had gone anywhere, i had never even heard them. i liked the name, and it was $5.99 that first week. so i gave it a try. 'Jenny was a Friend of Mine' had a solid riff, but so did a lot of the songs. i still think "On Top" is the best song on the record. why didnt it ever go single?
ANYWAY, "Sam's Town" is half-great. I'm in the stage now where i'm listening to the same three songs over and over, and not digging the rest of the record at all. BUT that happens with every single one of my favorite albums ever. every.single.one. it's kind of exciting thinking that i might grow into this record to such an extent that it becomes another of my favorite albums ever... its been a while since i had one of those. i think "Antics" was the last one, or "Turn On the Bright Lights" before it. i already loved Interpol when 'Antics' came out, but maybe thats an even stronger testament to its greatness (in my opinion). it had the potential to crush me. i really wanted Interpol to break up and never mess up TOTBL. Antics was either going to suck, or be fantastic. it started out (and is still) just as equal as TOTBL. weird.
