we finished Battlestar Season Three the other day... yawn. worst. ending song thingy. ever.

the whole season was a MAJOR letdown. season two had me enamoured, and in love, with the series after a rocky start. the honeymoon is over. i guess i can start into season four now. OH! i need to add Razor to my netflix LIKE NOW...

we finished Oz Season Five tonight. man... the ending to that was sad, but kinda perfect. Augustus has a knock out final word and the closing shot is a stunner. cant wait to dig into season six... to finish out the series.

did i mention we watched 'Bull Durham' the other night. it was a bit of a letdown too... i think i was expecting Caddyshack, but with more heart. instead i got porkys for adults. it was ok.

Wow... that '24' game is so fun I actually kinda want to watch the show now!

Only four more discs of Oz, and we're done with the entire series.

i neglected to mention that we watched the new '3:10 to Yuma' the other night. it was ok. i just don't get Russell Crowe... which is going to make 'American Gangster' difficult.

tonight we watched 'Mister Magorium's Magic Emporium'. it was ok. i liked pretty much everything about it except Mr. Magorium. he was like an idiot manchild. yes, i know thats his job, but it was just annoying. portman faked her way through the whole movie too... that was annoying, but shes nice to look at, so its forgiveable. the little kid was pretty decent and the emporium was pretty badass. the story was also kinda decent in that it focused on areas of life that most kids movies ignore.

we finished season four of 'Oz'...

and i played some more Half-Life 2 Episode 2. it got lost in the shuffle a few months back, but its still one of my favorites. half life 2 anyway. this had some really cool stuff in it. i'm just past the halfway mark i think.

i also upgraded to Leopard. ive had a few problems. my mighty mouse and lj client didnt agree with it, but overall the transition was smooth enough. i moved my dock to the bottom just to see the shinyness for a little while. i'm sure i'll boot it back to the side soon enough though.

Geez Louise... THIS freaking moron on Call of Duty 4... the dumbass was heavy breathing into his mic for not only the entire intermission, but then during the entire round.
Halfway through I figured out 'oh its None Higher because his name has been on the screen 100% of the game'
so i said 'NONEHIGHER turn your shit off. you're driving everyone nuts.'
he goes apeshit and yells 'its not me you dumb f%cker! shut the f%ck up! shut the f%ck up!'
so i unplugged my headset... and it started coming out of my surround sound... haha...

so then we're in the after party intermission and everyone told him to eff off, so he dropped and wouldn't you know it? the BREATHING STOPPED. what a jackass. so i left him some negative feedback and i'm avoiding his dumb ass.

why would he be so defensive about it? it was obviously him, why didnt he just say 'oh sorry' and unplug his mic? we werent even doing anything that needed much communication, its just that i was playing with some real life friends and its more fun to chat with them.

some people.... i will say Thank You Xbox Live for giving me the option of avoiding him from now on. I love you for that. I do with CoD had a Halo-ish mute button though.

and i hope david lets jon use his 360... you gotta get in on this CoD man!

we started in on 'Oz Season 3' today. EVERY show is a cliffhanger. or rather, maybe not a cliffhanger, but something big happens at the end of each episode, and then the show ends so you dont find out where it goes until the next show. i'm glad i dont have to wait a week!

i really love 'Oz' and fotini is into it now too... i would actually say i like it more than Sopranos at this point, as far as HBO dramas go. Sopranos has a lot more humor... Oz has nearly NO jokes, no obvious ones anyway... Adibici is the main source of humor... i used to hate that character, but now he's one of my favorites. and i used to like Schlesinger, but now he's been a dick for far too long and i just want him to get shanked.

We watched 'War' tonight, finally. It was ok. Had better action and more plot than I expected, but it's nothing all that special. Worth a look if you like Jet Li, Jason Statham or B Action films.

Of note is it's Blu-Ray capabilities. It's the first disc I know of with 'Blu-Drive' technology... the colored buttons ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, namely very quick editing. It also has a crapload of extras, and it kind of acts like an HD-DVD, what with the menu's and the way some of the interactive stuff works.

It also has a very bad fighting game attached. Since a DVD remote isn't all that great of a game controller, you choose about 10 moves for your fighter to perform, then hit 'go'. It's like a turn-based fighting game... a first as far as I know.

We're also deep into Season Two of 'Oz'. It's hands down one of the best HBO shows I've ever seen, in a sea of great programming. Every episode is PACKED FULL OF PLOT, i mean... to the rafters. Love it.

weird that i got two books in the mail today. i read about one book a month, yeah... not a big reader really.

So word on the street is that the Devil May Cry 4 demo is supposed to hit today... or is it next Thursday? i haven't played one since... the first one? So i'm looking forward to trying it out.

and maybe hastings will actually have No More Heroes in by the time i'm off work.

i'm in kind of an exciting (but difficult) section of Mass Effect...

i also have a disc and a half of 'Oz' to watch... and soylent green and harry potter 5 and 5 discs worth of Blade Runner. i need more hours in the day.

went to the driving range with Kyle. i swear... my golf game is a mystery. i used to be great with my short irons, then awful with them, but great with my long irons, today i was using my woods and putter like a champ, but that was it. freaking weird. if i ever got all those parts to work at the same time, i'd damn near be tour material.

kyle was pretty consistent. he kept fading everything, so i mentioned that he might be too far back in his stance. he moved up and started nailing everything perfectly. jerk.

we finished Deadwood Season One yesterday i think... i like the show, but i'm glad its over. i dont like it THAT much.

we started in on Oz Season One today... i'm already really loving it. but then, i have a very soft (and brown) spot for prison films.

Tomorrow i will hopefully be picking up 'No More Heroes'. I can't believe its already coming out! i have been hoarding hastings giftcards from other trade-ins, i'm going to get rid of Assassin's Creed, and NMH is definitely the type of game i want to pay full price for. or rather, the type of game i really want to support. it tanked in Japan... odds are, it'll tank here too. i'll let you know what i think. hastings said they were only getting 3 copies in... so i'm hoping to luck out and snag one.

oh yeah... the whole reason i came to the computer to post...

The Club demo is really fun!  who knew adding in some scoring to a pretty standard shooter would be so much fun?  you just run around shooting people, but they threw in a combo scoring system... so you're constantly pushing yourself for better scores.  simple and fun.  the game looks good, the controls work really well, its got a nice gritty feel to it, and some beautiful explosions.  wish i had more friends to play this kind of stuff with!
