we finished Battlestar Season Three the other day... yawn. worst. ending song thingy. ever.

the whole season was a MAJOR letdown. season two had me enamoured, and in love, with the series after a rocky start. the honeymoon is over. i guess i can start into season four now. OH! i need to add Razor to my netflix LIKE NOW...

we finished Oz Season Five tonight. man... the ending to that was sad, but kinda perfect. Augustus has a knock out final word and the closing shot is a stunner. cant wait to dig into season six... to finish out the series.

did i mention we watched 'Bull Durham' the other night. it was a bit of a letdown too... i think i was expecting Caddyshack, but with more heart. instead i got porkys for adults. it was ok.

i'm rambling because i'm trying to remember what i wanted to write about in the first place... wtf was it? justin reminded me of something... but now i'm at a loss... the new Interpol unofficial video is pretty neat... 'Rest My Chemistry' is probably my favorite song from LP3, so it has that going for it.

so i officially tore the piss out of my back. i pulled it again today lifting a case of chocolate covered raisins. i went to urgent care because i thought it was just something i did... but the doc said it was workers comp... a case of overused muscles or something. so then i had to go to my works doctor... that took all gotdamned day. i took a vicodin, 800mg of ibuprofen got a shot in my ass and went to physical therapy.

naturally my work doctor cleared me to work... so i'll be back in the saddle tomorrow. it hurts when i think. but i was jacked up on enough drugs today that it was ok for the bulk of the day.

i played A LOT of Williams Pinball Hall of Fame for the Wii. A lot. i love that game. i can't quit you WPHOF!

I threw my back out (though not while humping your mom, contrary to popular belief.)

Must have slept on it wrong because it hurt as soon as i woke up. i can stand up, and after 6 tylenol and nearly 9 hours on a heating pad, i can sit down too. i can lounge decently. its just the moving thats rough.

so i broke my streak of perfect attendance.

i usually wrench my back out about twice a year.

anyway... it did give me time to watch:

- three episodes of BSG season three
- There Will Be Blood
- Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

and i played some CoD4, Flatout and Viva Pinata Party Animals.

I keep forgetting to mention this... there were a lot of New Mexican ties to big films in 2007/2008. The main character in 'There Will Be Blood' gets his start in New Mexico, and SIlver City is referenced later in the film.

'Transformers' was shot here in New Mexico, as was 'No Country for Old Men'. It was weird seeing places I've traveled to/past daily as a backdrop for a horrible crime in the latter film.

Also, '3:10 to Yuma' was shot here. It snowed like crazy when they were shooting, but the script called for a drought. The filmmakers had to pay to remove the snow from the town, and trucked in dirt to cover it. If you look in the background during the final part of the film, you can see snow blanketing the entire landscape except in the small town.

So going into work at 2am wasn't so bad. it was nice to have the extra couple hours, and time did fly. everyone was cranky as hell though. the chick who does the area next to mine is dumb as a rock and much more vocal than one. she never shuts the hell up, and always asks dumb questions. a bunch of us ended up bombarding her area about 20 minutes before 'showtime' because it was a gotdamned wreck. filthy, and a mess. i'm a dick to her at this point. i just cant hang anymore.

what i love about SMart is that pretty much everyone 'gets' it. there are some annoying people, some lazy people, some lazy and annoying people, but at least 85% of the people there work hard and use their brains. thats like 45% more than any other place i've worked. usually the idiots rule the joint. not so here.

so, somehow i split the 'pads' on BOTH of my middle fingers. in the same spot too... the pad, towards the outside of the hand... right where they hit the keys to type...

I just played 'Pain' with Mike for over an hour. The same level, just laughing our asses off. Great game for what it is. Just wish it were bloodier.

Rock Band is better than Guitar Hero III. You heard it here last folks.

I think I need to adjust my junk though, because I was missing some really easy licks. Now the real challenge... finding a song that Fotini will want to sing along with. Maybe if she hears 'Maps' enough times, she'll go for it.

The new Astroids just reminds me of how bad Astroids sucks. I didn't have time to try out 'Undertow' or PAIN yet.

Did another long day yesterday. I've worked just shy of 43 hours so far this week, and I still have 3 more days in the work week. There is a foot of leaves in the backyard, a foot of empty water bottles in my car waiting to be cleaned out, and several feet deep worth of clothes in our laundry room. I'm just not here to do anything and Fotini is tired of doing everything. I can't wait until normal life sets in!

Jon will be back in about 2 weeks. Then he and Nicole have about 2 solid days of gaming backlogged they need to come over and assist us with. A bunch of wii titles, and some Rock Band... maybe even some Portal.

Yesterday, first thing in the morning, I got a bad cut UNDER my fingernail. You know those dumb cardboard slip covers that come on DVDs now? Well, I jammed the edge of one under my nail HARD. The whole tip of my finger is killing me. My hands are so rough right now and callused. It hurt to play Rock Band last night, and I only did 5 songs (about 20 minutes) before it hurt too much. We were in bed by 825, and asleep by 830.

Yesterday was the worst day off I've ever had.

I met my dad at my house at 630am, we spent 3 hours trying to get the stupid hopper to work so we could insulate my attic. He was shoehorned into the attic, while i was breaking up the insulation into the hopper. it kept getting clogged because the dispenser plate was broken off. anyway... we finally got a routine down and i just put the crap in the hopper really slowly. it took us NINE AND A HALF hours to finish. he was all sore from laying around in the attic, and my hands are still killing me from breaking up the insulation. its like giant blocks of feta cheese... 52 of them. ugh... i'm sore today... i cant imagine he's much better off. and the garage is TRASHED. its covered in a thick layer of insulation dust.

Puzzle Quest has kind of a crappy multiplayer mode. it has a health handicap, but thats it. everyone on there is like level 40+ ALREADY. the game has been out for 6 days. on the DS i've played the game into the ground, and i'm only a level 48 or so. i mean months of playing every day! sheeesh... these kids need a job or something. needless to say, i got my ass kicked by a level 48 wizard with my level 9 druid. still, i got him down to like 34 health... not bad for 6 starter spells.

today the new Jimmy Eat World record comes out. which is weird because when 'Futures' came out I had that week off as well. i guess they stick with october releases and i take vacations in october.

speaking of which... where's our Black Label Society record!??? Zakk Wylde had been pumping out a record every two seconds, and now its been over a year. its probably coming soon.

my ass gave me hell yesterday. i dont know what i ate, but i wanted to die. worst pain i've been in in a while.

jess did let me go home around 440 though! it was great! i came home and let the healing happen, ate dinner, took the dogs for a short walk, all that before 7pm! then we watched 'Hoosiers'. it was pretty good... if unremarkable.

so the new Tony Hawk demo hit Live today... i have to say... I'm looking more forward to 'skate' than 'Proving Ground'. I'm sure i'll hit up tony hawk eventually, but i think i'm over it. i lasted much longer than most people, most were sick of the franchise by THPS4, but i was hungry for more allllll the way up to THP8. well, #9 can wait.

i did do some work towards keeping my electricians license yesterday. i need 4 more hours of continuing education, and i've nearly knocked them out in about 2 actual hours. time to finish up!

It feels like someone cracked me in the skull with a pickax. every day my headache thingy has been getting worse, and today its all bad. like i snapped a nerve and its shooting through my skull.... ugh. my jaw muscles locked up today and it hurt like hell. the muscle right under the middle of my jaw. like from my chin to my throat... it got hard as a rock all the sudden and wouldnt let up... ouch!

In other news... I was selected as a runner-up in the Child's Play raffle on Cheap Ass Gamer! Child's Play is a charity that provides videogames for hospitalized children. last night we had dinner with jon and nicole and justin and his new fiance kathyrn. it was a pretty good meal to be had at Bravo! I was right on the border of being totally full and being totally sick, but i really wanted to finish my meal. i opted not to be sick, and sent my few remaining bites to the trash. man... it was good though.

fun hanging out with everyone too. i like how, for the most part, as an adult your friends all sort of fit together. everyone digs everyone and there is enough to talk about even without sharing common interests, although common interests are great fun as well.

my ass is KILLING me. yesterday was awful. my feet were sore from standing at work all day, but my ass hurt too much to sit down. i guess it's less my 'ass' and more my 'back'. the swelling is really high, at the top of the crack, not down by the brown. if i sit leaning forward, it doesnt hurt, but how often can you do that? sitting upright, or sitting back, laying down, etc. that all hurts really bad. i'm going to the doctor in a few minutes to get some antibiotics. i hate dropping trou in front of the guy though. anyway... should be fun!
